This website is devoted to gay romance – defining gay romance, seeking out gay romances, and sharing our discoveries.  The site will undoubtedly evolve over time, but I expect its heart will always be the Listmania section.   There, I briefly discuss romances that make my recommended lists, some that fall short, and others that miss it completely.  The purpose of this section is to share with you books I’ve enjoyed in hopes you will share your favorites with me.  I’m not very good about updating my website, but everyone is welcome to email me at HLeighAubrey@aol.com.   I’d love to hear about your favorite romances and romance writers.  I’ll be glad to add items to the website when I get enough contributions to motivate me to get my ass in gear.
I have to add that part of the motivation for this website is my failure to find a publisher for three gay romances I’ve written.  I’ve been given many reasons for rejection, including that the books aren’t good enough, but the consensus seems to be that pure romance doesn’t sell to a gay audience unless it contains erotica, some form of fantasy, or is essentially gay fiction.  I thought the success of Brokeback Mountain had changed that line of thought, but apparently I’m wrong.
So I want to encourage all of you gay romantics out there to keep reading gay romances and to keep seeing movies about gay romances.  Tell me about them, and I’ll try to pass them on.  If there’s enough demand, the publishers will start buying them.
